As shown in the figure, an application circuit for expanding current is composed of a W78×× integrated voltage regulator and an NPN-type power transistor. The maximum load current of the W78×× positive integrated regulator is 1.5 A, and the NPN power tube is required to expand the current. The circuit shown in Figure (a) uses an NPN-type tube to expand the current application. It uses the forward voltage drop of the diode VD1 to turn on the NPN transistor 3DDl5, so that the output current is output through 3DDl5. Figure (b) shows the application circuit with a protected extended current output.
