SMRT subway 106 trains all installed lights in 3 years

In the crowded subway car, if you can't hear the broadcast of the station system, the line of sight is blocked by others. If you can't see the sign outside the car, it is easy to sit.

The SMRT subway is ready to "light up" along the way to show the name of the subway station along the way, so that passengers can clearly know the subway station that will be on the station and which side of the car door will open.

Su Bihua, president and chief executive officer of SMRT, revealed the good news that the subway passengers have been waiting for for a long time.

It is expected that the first model will be launched in October this year and will be installed in the train. The SMRT will soon be tendered for the project. It is expected that all 106 trains will be completed in 2010.

Su Bihua pointed out that in fact, the company started researching as early as three or four years ago, and installed a flash road map similar to that used in trains in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Toronto and Shenzhen.

However, the costs involved in the system are very high and require hundreds of millions of dollars. The SMRT then tailored a new system that could be operated independently without the need to interface with the entire metro automatic signal system.

Su Bihua said that if you want to install a system similar to that used in Toronto and Shenzhen, you have to completely update the entire subway system so that the flash road map can be connected to the subway signal system. This is a very difficult and expensive job.

She estimates that the installation cost of the flash roadmap developed by SMRT is about several million yuan, much cheaper than the system on the market, but the function is exactly the same, "the relevant costs will not be passed on to the passengers."

Su Bihua said: "We need about two years to complete the installation on all trains. This is mainly because the train service is almost impossible to free up the installation work after the increase in the number of subway service flights."

SMRT is very optimistic about the market potential of this new system, and plans to sell it overseas, so it is not convenient to disclose too much technical details.

This flash road map is very helpful for seniors, foreign tourists and deaf people who are not English or unfamiliar.

Lin Xuelan, executive director of the Singapore Deaf Association, said in an interview that members of the association had proposed to the authorities to add such facilities to the train many years ago. I am glad that the authorities finally decided to implement them.

She said: "Especially when the train is very crowded, with this facility, passengers who are deaf or hearing problems will not worry about sitting."

Deaf Liu Zhenmei said: "This is not only very helpful to us, but also beneficial to those who do not know English or foreign tourists. This will definitely help to promote our tourism industry, because some visiting foreign tourists may not listen. English."

SMRT was awarded the International "Best Passenger Experience Award" for the first time

SMRT defeated the leading metro operators in Copenhagen, Hong Kong and Poland at the Metro Metro Service Awards, first presented in Copenhagen, Denmark, and won the “Best Passenger Experience Award”.

This is the first time it has won an international award and has been recognized by its overseas counterparts in terms of customer service performance.

This is a double happiness for SMRT. It was awarded the “Most Customer Friendly Transportation Award” at the “Land Transportation Excellence Awards” award ceremony held by the Land Transport Authority for the first time last month.

This international award was presented at the 4th Annual Metro Conference in Copenhagen on the 2nd of this month. Selection criteria include whether the service is value for money, whether it is effective and reliable, additional facilities in the subway station and the car, ease of use, security measures, and the ability to cope with congestion problems.

The director of the conference, Valhey, said: "SMRT has a complete program and mechanism to enhance the passengers' driving experience, while also ensuring the safety and reliability of the subway. It has achieved high scores in almost every field."

Jiang Huiling, director of SMRT subway station operation, said: "We continue to improve services based on passenger feedback, such as the Bum Rest installed earlier in the city subway station. Later, because the passengers reported that the chair is too high, the chair The surface is also very slippery, so we converted it into a low stool to make the passengers sit more comfortable."

Among other awards, the Hong Kong Railway Company won the "Best Metro Award in the Asia Pacific Region" and the Copenhagen Metro Company was awarded the "Best Metro Award" and the "Best Metro Award in Europe".
