Everyone knows that the drive is the heart of the LED light source, and at the same time the most vulnerable part of the LED light source. Therefore, how to make an LED drive power supply is really a prerequisite for an LED light source.
I have a different understanding of the important indicators of the following power supplies. I hope to share with you so that you can see the future development direction of LED drivers:
1) Conversion efficiency (Efficiency); LED light source as an emerging light source, the pursuit of luminous efficiency per unit power is an inevitable trend, and the realization of high light efficiency depends first on the improvement of the light efficiency of the LED itself, and the second depends on the drive power AV / DC Increased conversion efficiency. In the existing technology, the possibility of greatly improving the short-term light efficiency of LEDs is very small, but it is not difficult to achieve AC / DC conversion efficiency by using different topologies. For example, we now use a non-isolated architecture to achieve more than 90% conversion efficiency of AC / DC drive power. Such a solution has been sought after by the industry and has gradually become a trend. In detail, the bulb lamp should adopt a non-isolated and non-stroboscopic solution, especially when the graphene thermally conductive plastic shell is used to ensure insulation. The T8 / T5 rod tube should be implemented with a non-isolated high PF value and no stroboscopic scheme.
2) Constant current accuracy (Constant Current); the level of constant current accuracy determines the rate of change of output brightness, therefore, the appropriate constant current accuracy is a necessary guarantee for healthy light sources. At the same time, the magnitude of constant current accuracy also affects the light attenuation of the light source. Therefore, a qualified driving power supply must have relatively good constant current accuracy. In the market, we see many products, including international first-line brands (P14 brand E14 candle lamp; domestic large brand FSL lighting E27 bulb lamp), using the resistance-capacitance step-down method, the brightness of the whole lamp with the input voltage Changes and dramatic changes are really irresponsible.
3) Linear Regulation: The linear regulation determines the area of ​​use of a finished light source. For example, in the central and eastern regions of our country, the national power grid is relatively stable. Generally, the fluctuation of the input voltage range is limited (AC220V ± 10%), then single-voltage products can be met, but the remote western regions, this problem will become It is complicated, but we think that if the product can guarantee the input linear adjustment rate of 160V-265V, it can basically meet the needs of China and even most parts of the world (excluding the Americas and Japan). But if you pursue perfection, you can achieve an international input voltage of 85-265V; but you still cannot guarantee that your products will not be damaged in rural India. A friend who works in the Mainland once bought a T8 rod tube made by a low-cost civilized manufacturer (M manufacturer) in Guangdong. When the input voltage is 240V, the brightness can reach 1220 lumens, but when the input voltage reaches 180V, the output brightness is It became 723 lumens. For products like this, I do n’t think they should be circulated in the market. You should know that in places like underground parking lots, it is easy for large-scale lamp string to be connected in parallel, and the voltage is not less than 180V.
4) Ripple, noise and total harmonic distortion (Ripple, Noise & THD); ripple and noise will cause stroboscopic, if it can be suppressed without increasing the cost, we should of course pay attention. If your guests are concerned about the strobe seen in the camera lens, then you should do this well. Regarding distortion, how do you think it's your business? I don't pay much attention anyway, but if the customer cares about this, we must spare no effort to do it well, but the increase in cost must also be transferred to the customer.
5) Power factor correction (PFC). The size of the power factor PF will determine the efficiency of the national power grid, but the power factor is positively related to the size of the power. If you make a 3W bulb and pursue power factor, then I can only think that you are a very socially responsible person. But if you make a high-power drive power supply of more than 80W without pursuing this, I think you have too little sense of social responsibility, that's all. I personally think that the State Grid has made a lot of money, and we do n’t need to take any responsibility for the quality of the power grid. Of course, if you want to pursue, I will raise my feet in favor and express my respect.
6) Safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility (Safety Standard and EMI); safety regulations are the norms and laws of each country or region, and are also a threshold and a trade barrier. But in any case, it is also a standard for regulating an industry and evaluating the quality of a product, and it is also a barrier to ensure the safety of electricity. In our country, the safety regulations and EMI issues are not standardized enough, and we rely on our own discipline. In my opinion, a responsible company must ensure the safety of your product's electricity and the safety of users. If you exceed this bottom line, you will eventually be spurned by users.
7) Reliability: As the heart and short board of the LED light source, it is the primary problem to ensure the reliability of the drive products. Otherwise, Shenma are all floating clouds. Some customers have misunderstandings on reliability issues. Let ’s take a look at capacitors. Some people think that the life of electrolytic capacitors is the shortest board for LED barrels. In theory, it seems to be right, but the problem is that some designers However, the understanding of electrolytic capacitors is too superficial, blindly pursuing Japanese high-end brands (Rubycon, Nichicon, etc.), but ignoring the working environment of electrolytic capacitors during the design of the entire lamp, allowing the electrolytic capacitors to work at high temperatures of more than 90 degrees in. If so, the life of any tall electrolytic capacitor will be greatly reduced. If you use graphene thermally conductive plastic, make sure that the drive is not wrapped by a thick insulating sleeve, especially to ensure that the working environment temperature does not exceed 65 degrees. You can use ordinary domestic 2000-hour capacitors to provide customers with a three-year warranty. No worries. Think about our domestic TVs, no one will use RUBYCON, but let users sit back and relax.
In summary, in 2014, the driver should do this: ensure reliability and safety, pursue efficiency and constant current accuracy, try to suppress ripple and noise, and properly adjust the linear adjustment rate.
