Industrial robots ushered in a blowout, and sales in China soared to 2.4 times in 2020

China is the largest consumer market for robots. As the demand for industrial robots in China is exploding, the industrial robot market will usher in a blowout.

Japanese media said that due to the strong demand for industrial robots around the world, various industrial robot companies have increased production in China. Germany's home appliance giant Midea's German KUKA will build two new plants in China, and plans to increase its production capacity in China by four times by the end of 2019. Due to the increase in labor costs and the strengthening of the manufacturing industry, China's industrial robot demand is exploding, and China is rapidly emerging as a robot factory.

According to reports, in addition to Germany, KUKA also has a factory in Shanghai, China. First, the second plant will be put into production in Shanghai in January 2018, increasing the annual production capacity to twice the current 25,000 units. After that, it will build a new workshop in Guangdong before the end of 2019, and increase its annual production capacity in China to four times to 50,000 units.

Stefan Lampa, CEO of KUKA Robotics, said he hopes to acquire the robotic needs of the automotive industry in Shanghai and acquire the robotic needs of the motor and electronics industries in Guangdong. After the new plant is put into production, in addition to China, it will also be exported to other Asian countries. It is also planned to continue to increase the production capacity of the German plant (currently with an annual production capacity of 40,000 units), and strive to increase the total annual production capacity to more than 100,000 units after 2020.

According to the International Robotics Alliance, global industrial robot sales will increase by 77% from 2016 by 2016. Among them, China's sales are expected to soar to 2.4 times. In China, due to the increase in labor costs, the shortage of manpower in the manufacturing industry is outstanding. In addition, the Chinese government's policy of strengthening manufacturing has also prompted companies to accelerate the introduction of industrial robots.

According to reports, China is the largest market for industrial robots, and Japanese companies are constantly launching offensives. Yaskawa Electric not only began to increase production in China, but also officially cooperated with Midea Group. It is planned to put the nursing rehabilitation robot jointly developed by both parties into the market and is committed to the export of factory automation systems. Yaskawa, president of Yaskawa Electric, said: "We will continue to cooperate with our partners in the future."

Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Fujitsu have also decided to increase production at their factories in China. FANUC, which only manufactures robots in Japan, plans to invest 63 billion yen to build a new robot factory in Ibaraki Prefecture.

Swiss company ABB plans to more than double the global production capacity of industrial robots in the next one to two years. According to reports, ABB has factories in Europe and China, and plans to increase production capacity in various regions in the future.
