ZMP launches wireless 9-axis motion sensor with maximum communication distance of 100m

Japan’s ZMP (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) introduced the wireless 9-axis motion sensor “e-nuvo IMU-Z2”.

The new product is equipped with a 3-axis acceleration sensor, a 3-axis gyro sensor, and a 3-axis geomagnetic sensor. By combining these three kinds of sensors, it is possible to perform dynamic and static pose estimation and 3-D motion measurement on a person or an object equipped with the product. Measurement data can be transmitted wirelessly up to 100m. Can be applied to long-distance walking measurements and outdoor sports measurements. The wireless communication standard “Bluetooth ver2.0+EDR Class 1” is used for communication. Wired communication uses CAN communication.

The new product monomer supports a sampling frequency of 1 kHz, and can also be used to measure vehicle vibrations. The product size is 36 x 52 x 11mm and weighs about 20g. Also included is a development kit (SDK) that includes a database of filters, pose estimators, kinematics, and 3D graphics, as well as sample programs. The price is 298,000 yen (excluding tax), about 24,600 yuan.
