At present, the incidence of myopia in students is high. According to the survey, the environmental factors and the incidence of myopia are quite close. Among them, classroom lighting is one of the most important factors. In order to improve this situation and provide students with a healthy lighting environment, since 2008, Yan Yonghong, a professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University, has undertaken the National Natural Science Foundation project “Study on the Health Lighting of Classrooms Based on Photobiological Effectsâ€.
Professor Yan believes that classroom lighting not only has a great impact on students' vision health. Due to the non-visual effect of the eyes, the difference in spectrum and light intensity of different color temperature sources will also affect the students' circadian rhythm, causing excitement or fatigue, affecting learning efficiency. And psychological and physical health. Therefore, the classroom lighting lamp should not only consider the influence of the color temperature and illumination of the light source on the students, but also pay special attention to the spectral safety of the light source.
At present, classroom lighting is mainly based on fluorescent light sources, and LED lighting has not yet officially entered the field of classroom lighting. Only LEDs were used in some experimental projects. At present, it is more common to replace the old T8 fluorescent tube with a straight tube LED to obtain higher light efficiency. However, since many schools have adopted T5 fluorescent lamps with higher luminous efficiency, the idea of this LED application will be greatly restricted in the future. Since the current price of LED light source is higher than that of T5 fluorescent lamp, it is not dominant from the viewpoint of light efficiency. Therefore, if we only promote the LED classroom lights with the concept of energy saving, I personally think that the prospects are not very good.
The rate of myopia among young people in China ranks second in the world. In particular, the detection rate of poor eyesight among college students is as high as 82.68%. The reason is closely related to poor classroom lighting. Compared with fluorescent lamps, LEDs are more likely to meet spectral safety requirements. Our experiments have also demonstrated that LEDs have better visual performance at the same color temperature and illumination. Therefore, from the perspective of benefiting students' vision health and relieving students' nervousness, LED has a greater advantage than fluorescent lamps and has a very large market potential.
