Passing files between iOS devices and Android devices has always been a nuisance. Google is now trying to change this situation. There are signs that Google is developing a service that helps close-range Android and iOS users transfer data and files. This service will be referred to as "Copresence" and we can now discover its origins in the latest Google Play Services upgrade.
With this service, Android and iOS devices can transfer files, pictures, and other multimedia content via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct. We found this service in addition to the Google Play Services APK file (with an introduction picture) and found it in the Chrome Dev API. It is reported that users can cross-platform use it without having to log in to Google account, which will undoubtedly make the operation easier.
Previously, Android and iOS users usually only uploaded files to the cloud (such as Google Drive) to achieve content sharing, but in this era of lack of privacy and security, not everyone is willing to send their own data to the cloud. With Copresence, users on both platforms can send files more quickly, and even perform voice information calls and other operations, all in a private and secure environment.
Google has not confirmed whether the service is real, but judging from the XML file and Chrome's API documentation, it will soon meet with us.
