FCI adds HPCE and HP2 cable assemblies for power solutions

FCI , a leading manufacturer of connectors and interconnect systems, has announced that its high-power card edge ( HPCE ) cable assemblies can be used with the two-piece cable assembly HP2. Both products offer a lower height option to ensure maximum system airflow.

The HPCE cable assembly integrates innovative power contacts and housing design to provide a more compact and compact structure for demanding DC AC power modules and add-on card applications. Its low profile (2.84 mm on the board), similar to FCI 's other power solutions, uses cost-effective and highly reliable imprinted power contact technology. It offers high power (10 – 14 AWG wire) and low power (14 – 16 AWG wire) power contact options, as well as integrated signal contacts (22 – 26 AWG wire). Modular tools provide maximum flexibility to meet a wide range of power distribution requirements, including bus accessories. The integrated latching option makes it ideal for highly vibrating and vibrating environments.

The HPCE cable assembly's low height (allowing maximum airflow), high linear current density, and low contact impedance make it an ideal choice for next-generation 1U/2U servers, storage enclosures, telecom equipment, and data communications/networking equipment.

The HP2 cable assembly is similar to the HPCE cable assembly, but it has a two-piece design (plug-to-socket cable assembly). A range of right angle plugs and vertical plugs are available for mating with cable sockets for design flexibility in different system architectures. The lower profile (7.5 mm height) maximizes airflow and cools the system effectively. The integrated navigation function makes it the best choice for blind applications. Similarly, HP2TM products include high-power and low-power contacts for power distribution, as well as signal contacts for power control. The number and arrangement of power and signal contacts can be highly flexible based on specific power requirements.
