SUPERTEX Introduces HV9918 Charge Pump Mode LED Driver IC

Recently, Supertex introduced the HV9918 charge pump mode LED driver IC, which uses current hysteresis control and high side current detection. It is the ideal driver IC for a variety of solid-state lighting applications, such as low-voltage industrial and architectural LED lighting, signage and decorative lighting, indication and emergency lighting, and can also be used as a universal constant current source.

The hysteresis control function allows the HV9918 to keep the output constant current to the led string regardless of the input voltage fluctuations.

“Supertex's HV9918 provides fast transient loading response and does not require feedback loop compensation,” said AhmedMasood, vice president of marketing at Supertex. “In-line FET switches reduce the power consumption of the entire system and the space of the pcb board. Current control helps with a variety of LED lighting applications."
