According to the data from the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, in the first quarter of this year, more than 15 Chinese and foreign color TV brands have launched 110 4K TVs, of which the mainstream 50-inch 4K TVs range in price from 3,000 to 15,000 yuan. Not only the price difference, but also the technical standards and picture quality are uneven, giving consumers difficulty in purchasing 4K TV. To this end, the "Ultra High-Definition Display Certification Technical Specification" issued this time defines the 14 display performances and hardware basic configuration specifications of 4K TVs and hopes to clarify the boundary between 4K and pseudo 4K. In the future, color TV manufacturers and home appliance stores will be affixed with a clear certification mark to 4K TVs that meet this technical specification, so as to facilitate consumers' purchase.

Ovid Consulting's data shows that 4K TV will account for about 10% of the domestic color TV market this year, and the sales volume will exceed 3 million units. According to industry insiders, with the increasingly popular 4K TV market, there are indeed pseudo-4K TV products on the market, and some TV manufacturers have cut corners in order to meet the market's popularity. Although most 4K TVs use a 4K screen, they still maintain a 2K configuration in the chip and graphics engine. This makes the TV unable to present a 4K display effect. This is called pseudo 4K.
