Seoul Semiconductor announced that it will sell white light products of the 0.5W class high-output LED "Z-POWER P9 series" at a price of 3 yen/lm. Users can buy LEDs with a luminous flux of 25 lm for only 75 to 100 yen.
The Z-POWER P9 series is a surface mountable product. The white light product includes two types of built-in narrow directional lenses and wide directional lenses. Narrow directional lenses are widely used in flashlights and reading lamps, including flashlight sources for mobile phones, and wide directional lenses are used in billboard lighting and other fields. The company plans to increase the maximum brightness of white LEDs by 20% in the second half of 2007 to around 30lm.
