Vishay Intertechnology has released yellow and amber LEDs VLMx32 with brightness between 1400 and 2850 mcd/m2. The package adopts 4-terminal PLCC, and the luminous power can reach 2 times that of the original 2-terminal PLCC package. The thermal resistance is at least 290K/W, the power loss is up to 200mW, and the drive current is up to 70mA. It will be used for car lights, display backlights, and communication equipment.
In terms of the emission wavelength, yellow is 585 to 594 nm, and amber is 610 to 621 nm. The luminance deviation is 1.6 or less. AlInGaP technology is used. The forward voltage is +1.85 to 3.03V, and the ESD withstand voltage based on JESD22-A114-B is at most 2kV. The product is surface mount and is available in strips 8mm wide. Sample shipments have begun.
