The ADS7042 is a 12-bit, 1MSPS, analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This section introduces the ADS7042 features, application range, reference design circuitry, and circuit analysis to help you reduce design time.
ADS7042 Features: The ADS7042 supports a wide range of analog input voltages (1.65V to 3.6V) and includes a SAR ADC based on a capacitor with a built-in sample-and-hold circuit. The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) compatible serial port is controlled by the CS and SCLK signals. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CS and SCLK is used for conversion and serial data output. The device supports a wide range of digital power supplies (1.65V to 3.6V) and can be directly connected to a variety of host controllers. The ADS7042 is compliant with the JESD8-7A standard nominal DVDD range (1.65V to 1.95V).
